Helping the people of Sudan

I am Dana Bayoumi, a Sudanese living in the Netherlands. I am passionate about my country and its people, and I am deeply saddened by the recent conflict between the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and the military.

The conflict began in April 2023, when the RSF, a paramilitary group, refused to be integrated into Sudan's army under a planned transition to civilian rule. Since then, the conflict has led to hundreds of deaths and thousands of people displaced from their homes.

As a Sudanese, it hurts my heart to see my country suffer. That's why I am donating 2.5% of my profits from Chawlunga, my online store that sells African inspired designs, to charities on the ground that directly support the Sudanese people.

Every product that is bought on Chawlunga directly supports the Sudanese people who are in need of food, water, shelter, and medical care. I am committed to using my platform to help the people of Sudan, and I hope that you will join me in supporting this important cause.

Things that are lacking in Sudan

The people of Sudan are in desperate need of food, water, shelter, and medical care. The conflict has caused widespread displacement and destruction, and many people are living in poverty.

The following are some of the things that are lacking in Sudan:

  • Food: Millions of people in Sudan are facing food insecurity. The conflict has disrupted agricultural production and food distribution, and many people are struggling to meet their basic needs.
  • Water: Access to clean water is limited in many parts of Sudan. The conflict has damaged water infrastructure, and many people are forced to drink contaminated water.
  • Shelter: Many people in Sudan have been displaced by the conflict. They are living in overcrowded camps or in makeshift shelters, and they are at risk of disease and violence.
  • Medical care: The health system in Sudan is in crisis. The conflict has damaged hospitals and clinics, and there is a shortage of medical supplies and personnel. Many people are unable to access the care they need.

If you would like to help the people of Sudan, there are many ways to get involved. You can donate to charities that are providing food, water, shelter, and medical care. You can also volunteer your time or skills to help those in need.

Every little bit helps. Together, we can make a difference for the people of Sudan.

Thank you for your support!
